Die Clonezilla Live Linux-CD kann Images von einzelnen Systemen, also Partitionen bzw. ganzen Festplatten anlegen.
Die installierbare Clonezilla Server Edition unterstützt Multicasting; damit kann auf mehrere Computer gleichzeitig

Geschwindigeitsvorteil: Clonezilla speichert und stellt nur benutze Blöcke her (was z.B. G4L Ghost for Linux nicht kann).
Die Entwickler geben an, dass sie ein System mit 5,6 GByte via Multicasting in nur 10 Minuten
auf 41 Clients gespielt haben. Mittels Unicasting würde derselbe Vorgang etwa 50 Minuten dauern.

Features of Clonezilla * Free (GPL) Software. * Filesystem supported: ext2, ext3, reiserfs, xfs, jfs of GNU/Linux, and FAT, NTFS of MS Windows. Therefore you can clone GNU/Linux or MS windows. For these file systems, only used blocks in partition are saved and restored. For unsupported file system, sector-to-sector copy is done by dd in Clonezilla. * LVM2 (LVM version 1 is not) under GNU/Linux is supported. * Multicast is supported in Clonezilla server edition, which is suitable for massively clone. You can also remotely use it to save or restore a bunch of computers if PXE and Wake-on-LAN are supported in your clients. * Based on Partimage, ntfsclone and dd to clone partition. Clonezilla-SysRescCD is a Linux multi boot backup/restore and rescue CD, combining Clonezilla Live and System Rescue CD in one CD. Enhancements to Clonezilla Live Automated restore DVDs can be easily created, so that anybody can perform a system restore operation (even people with minimum technical knowledge). All the necessary files for the creation of the DVD are included in Clonezilla-SysRescCD. A script called reloc-img makes it possible to restore an image file to a location (disk or partition) different than the one originally backed up.
