Backup-Tool um Images von Festplatten, die in FAT 12, 16, 32 und NTFS formatiert sind, anzulegen und wiederherzustellen.
DriveImage XML verwendet dafür die Volume Shadow Services (VSS) von Microsoft, was den Vorteil hat,
dass Images sogar von Laufwerken erstellt werden können, die gerade benutzt werden.
Die fertigen Images kann man durchsuchen und alle oder nur bestimmte Dateien wiederherstellen.
Praktischerweise muss nach dem Wiederherstellen eines Laufwerkes der Computer nicht neu gestartet werden.
Um Kompatibel mit externen Drittprogrammen zu sein, werden die Backups im XML-Format gespeichert.
