Wesentlich schlanker als die Original-Treiber, zudem mit audiophilem Klang und professionellen Einstellungsmöglichkeiten. The kX Audio Driver is an independent WDM (Windows Driver Model) driver for all EMU10K1 and EMU10K2-based soundcards manufactured by Creative Technology Ltd. and/or E-mu Systems Inc., including the SoundBlaster Live! series, the E-mu Audio Production Studio (APS) card, and the Audigy / Audigy2 series of cards Full List > http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/faq.php?language=en#cards The kX Audio Driver package includes driver system files and setup files as well as a powerful audio mixer application (the kX Mixer), which acts as a Graphical User Interface, providing access to many of the driver's internal functions. The following features are either fully supported or partially supported in the latest release of the kX Audio Driver: - Wave Recording & Playback - MIDI Synthesizer (Soundfont-based) and MIDI UART In/Out - DirectSound 2D and DirectSound 3D - Full ASIO and GSIF support - DSP Microcode Loading/Unloading - Full AC97 codec control - AC3 Software Decoding The kX Driver is FREE and will remain FREE. Please note that you can always encourage development by making a donation to the kX Fund. http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/fund.php?language=en kX Soundblaster Compatibility List http://kb.kxproject.lugosoft.com/list.html Front and Rear issues http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/rear.php?language=en These issues pertain to all Creative cards, but not to the E-mu APS and some Audigy2 Platinum Ex cards. Creative audio cards based on the EMU10kX audio DSP require a DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) in order to produce analog output. In general, this task is typically performed by either AC97 Codecs or I2S Codecs. As a rule, Creative audio cards use the AC97 Codec for Front and Center/Subwoofer outputs, and I2S Codec for Rear output. The AC97 Codec is also used as an ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) and, thus, is responsible for all on-board analog inputs. (Note that LiveDrives and other DaughterBoard cards use different schemes). The AC97 Codecs used in SBLive! cards are rather noisy devices (when compared to I2S Codecs), and this leads to some quality problems. As a rule, SBLive Rear outputs have much better Signal To Noise Ratio (SNR), Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and Channel Separation (acs) since they use the I2S Codec. So, if you want to get better sound quality for music playback it is recommended that you plug your speakers into the 'Rear Out' and enable the 'Swap Front and Rear' kX Mixer option (the swap is enabled by default). The Audigy and Audigy2 cards use both AC97 and I2S Codecs for Front output and this theoretically gives you rather good Front quality. But nevertheless, the AC97 Codec causes some distortion and thus the same procedure is recommended for use with Audigy / Audigy2 cards as well. Certain Audigy2 Platinum Ex cards lack AC97 codec and thus don't require Front and Rear outputs to be swapped. Of course, the above should be considered as a recommendation only. Konfigurationsdateien! Clean Installation: - Backup any kX stuff that you might want to save. - Uninstall using the kX installer (choose to remove everything). - Do not skip any reboot requests, unless told otherwise by the software. - Use DriverCleaner Pro to do additional cleanup. http://www.drivercleaner.net/professional.html To ensure it is all gone: - Delete any remaining kX directories under "Program Files" (i.e. kX Project or KX Audio Driver, etc). - Delete any remaining kX Start Menu entries. - Delete *.kxl and *.kxs in the Windows\System32 directory. (I would just search the Windows directory (including subdirectories) for *.kx;kx* most, if not all the files you will find are related to kX... delete any that you are sure are related to kX). - Delete the kX registry keys if they still exist: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\kX HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\kX Project package Then reinstall 3538j. Not all the above is necessary, but it is not hard to do, and should ensure you get a clean installation. http://www.driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=97845&page=3 suchen :::> zs2 SBLIVE e-mu driver alternativer soundtreiber sound driver sounds better hifi hochwertiger klang besserer audio soundkarten audigy genauere einstellungen nicht so aufgebläht karte dadada sound card

3539 released http://www.driverheaven.net/general-discussion/144178-3539-released.html hello, 3539 is finally out! changes: * improved a2zsnb support * added ASIO support for Vista (x86 ONLY) * several minor fixes developer note: The driver no longer links against debugging libraries, legacy DSP effects and plugins might not work without recompilation! MFC42D and MSVCRTD no longer required. known issues: 1. hardware-related * digital noise/beep instead of audio playback (PCI bus-related) - since 2001... on certain PCI chipsets only. solutions: try to disable/enable the device (don't forget to close kX Mixer first!); try 'kxctrl -rv'; try to play any MIDI file for some time; reboot * Line3 (AUX) may be too noisy on A2PlatinumEx (undocumented initalization) solution: try to disable/re-enable the driver in the device manager (don't forget to close kX Mixer) * sysex is corrupt if it is too long I tried to reproduce this problem: MIDI-In is working properly, MIDI Out seems to be buggy. don't know if I can fix this soon 2. OS-Specific issues * NO x64 support (Vista x64 and WinXP x64) * NO support for AC-3 stuff in Vista (please check, I'm not sure...) * Vista mixer controls are not working properly. Please don't use them. kX Mixer might be missing certain sliders. You can unassign all mixer controls and use kX Mixer instead of Windows Vista Mixer. Or just ignore kX Mixer controls and use Vista mixer instead * for better audio quality, set Vista audio format to stereo, 48000, 16 bit (for non-HQ devices) 3. known a2zs notebook issues * there might be an audible click when starting audio playback and for every MIDI note - no solution * there might be constant noise instead of audio playback: solutions: disable/enable the device in the device manager; or: reboot; or: kxctrl -rv * certain PCMCIA controllers are not compatible. please review Creative labs site for details * all audio inputs and outputs (including digital) should work * AC-3 functionality was not fully tested. please report your thoughts on this * XTRAM DSP effects can produce audible noise. This is caused by BIOS setting (HLT instruction to keep the CPU idle) - solution: disable this in BIOS this driver version does NOT support (as 3538 and previous ones...): * EAX 2.0 * 24/96 ASIO * WaveHQ device (24/96) playback/recording on p17v (a2value, a2zsnotebook) - it was errornously enabled in 3538, but since p16v and p17v are different chips, no support is currently available (it didn't work in 3538 anyway) * E-mu 1820-like hardware * passthru on 10k1-based devices --- finally, download link: http://files-upload.com/files/456646/kxdrv3539-full.exe http://www.ciminski.de/simon/ftp/kX/kxdrv3539-full.exe installation notice: - uninstall any 3538 version first. if you have any setting files, save DSP configuration separately, since some of the settings are no longer compatible with previous 3538 builds. this is IMPORTANT! ===== new 3539 bug report thread -- please use IT instead of this thread for bug reports: ===== ARCHIVE ===== previous build: 3538m released - 3538m previous build: 3538l released - 3538l previous build: 3538k release - 3538k 3538l, 3538k, 3538j bug reports: 3538l bug reports 3538m bug reports: 3538m bug reports any build prior to 3539 is no longer supported
