Es ist für mich im Moment die einfachste Methode. Mein besonderer Dank gilt dabei in erster Linie den Entwicklern des Tools USB_Multiboot2. Ohne die Beiträge im CD-Forum und MSFN-Forum wäre diese Anleitung nicht möglich gewesen. USB_Multiboot2 ist eine Weiterentwicklung von USB_Prep8. Darüber findet man schon einige Anleitungen im Internet und auch ich habe meine erste Windows XP Installation auf dem Eee PC damit gemacht. Doch mit USB_Multiboot2 ist alles sehr viel einfacher geworden. 1.) Vorbereitungen Um mit diesem Programm arbeiten zu können, wird eine 32-bit Version von Windows XP oder Windows Vista benötigt. 64-bit Versionen werden leider nicht unterstützt. Ich empfehle, anschliessend in folgenden Schritten vorzugehen: Das Archiv direkt in das Hauptverzeichnis eines Laufwerkes, also z.B. auf C:\ entpacken. Einen neuen Ordner mit dem Namen WINXPCD im Hauptverzeichnis des gleichen Laufwerks anlegen. Die Installationsdateien von der Windows XP-CD in den Ordner WINXPCD kopieren. Es ist dabei wichtig, möglichst kurze Namen ohne Leerzeichen zu verwenden. Wer eine komplett unbeaufsichtigte Installation (Unattended Install) haben möchte, sollte nun im Ordner USB_MultiBoot2 die Datei winnt.sif und den $OEM$ Order nach seinen Bedürfnissen anpassen. What got me thinking about it was a post on Josh's board (windowsconnected.com) about running WinPE from a bootable USB Flash drive and it seems to me like there's be a lot of folks that would want to install Windows Vista entirely from a USB Flash drive as well. WHY INSTALL FROM USB FLASH DRIVE? Why would someone want to install a client OS from a thumb drive instead of a DVDROM or over the network? One reason: Performance. Installing Windows Vista from a high speed USB flash drive is in my experience the easiest & fastest way to complete a Windows Vista install. This is much faster than using a DVD, gigabit ethernet, or possibly even some external USB 2.0 hard drives, due to differences in access speed & transfer rate. To put this into perspective, y'know how installing Windows on a Virtual PC virtual machine from an .ISO CD image is really, really, really fast? Imagine something roughly just as fast, except for doing installations of the OS on to actual workstations. ...
