Die Kombination vereinigt die Vorteile beider Betriebsysteme. Große Festplatten sind kein Problem und die Fernwartung funktioniert prima über das WLAN und Windows. Beim Start des Rechners kann ich zwischen DOS und Windows auswählen. Die Ausgabe des Menüs erfolgt über das LCD Display, die Steuerung über die Tastatur. Als MP3 Player verwende ich das geniale MPXPLAY von PDSOFT. MPXPLAY unterstützt nicht nur MP3 Dateien, sondern auch das OGG und WAV Format. Der Player kann die Musik Dateien von der Festplatte und von CD-ROM abspielen. Die Unterstützung für LCD Displays ist einsame Klasse und es gibt fast nichts was man nicht konfigurieren kann. Außerdem gibt es für MPXPLAY ausgereifte Zusatzsoftware, die als Frontend die Ausgabe und Steuerung des Players übernimmt. Ich habe mich für MPXT, den Nachfolger von MPXF, entschieden. Ach ja - und lange Dateinamen funktionieren auch.
