Eine Verknüpfung erstellt man, indem man einfach die gewünschte Anwendung oder einen Ordner in die Sidebar zieht. Man kann eigene Symbole für die Verknüpfungen verwenden, die Standardsymbole anzeigen lassen, nur Symbole, nur Text oder beide. Ein Rechtsklick in die Bar öffnet ein Kontextmenü mit weiteren Einstellungsmöglichkeiten. So kann man z.B. die Namen und Pfade der Einträge editieren oder die Schriftart, die Seperatoren, und die Leiste selbst anpassen. Einstellungen werden als *.xml Dateien im %userprofile%|Application Data (Anwendungsdaten)|FindeXer gespeichert.
