In fünf Registern kann man mit CPU-Z die wichtigsten informationen über CPU, Cache, Mainboard, Speicher und das SPD des RAM-Bausteins erfahren. CPU-Z ist ein Tool im Stil von WCPUID. Seit Version 1.25 bietet es Unterstützung für Intels neue Pentium4 J- und Pentium M-Prozessoren, unterstützt nForce 4-Chipsätze und noch einige Kleinigkeiten mehr. Neu im Programm ist ein Validation-Prozess, der die Echtheit der Angaben, die mit dem Tool gemacht werden, bezeugen soll. Startet man CPU-Z mit CPUZ.EXE, so erscheint ein Fenster mit sechs Registern. Die ersten fünf geben Auskunft über die wichtigsten informationen über CPU, Cache, Mainboard, Speicher und das SPD des RAM-Bausteins. Im sechsten Register "About" hat man die Möglichkeit seine Hardwareinfo in Form einer Text-Datei, einer HTM-Datei und einer Validation-Datei (.vcf) abzuspeichern. Möchte man seine Hardwareinfo aus CPU-Z in sein Sysprofile importieren um sich etwa lästige Tippselarbeit zu sparen, so genügt es die von CPU-Z erstellte cpuz.cvf Datei bei Sysprofile.de unter "Profil Bearbeiten" hochzuladen. Ein extra dafür eingerichteter Dialog "CPU-Z Validationfile Upload" macht die Sache kurz und schmerzlos.
