Er produzierte Künstler wie The Undisputed Truth, Taka Boom und Rose Royce, Royces Single Car Wash schaffte immerhin eine #3 in den Pop-Charts. Sie wurde 1971 von damaligen Motown-Produzenten Norman Whitfield gegründet. Die damaligen Mitglieder waren Joe Harris, Billie Rae Calvin und Brenda Joyce. Noch 1971 erschien ihr selbst betiteltes Debütalbum. Darauf befindet sich mit Smiling Faces Sometimes ihr größter Hit. Die Single erreichte Platz 3 der Billboard Hot 100. Ein Jahr später wurde mit Face to Face with the Truth ´das zweite Album von The Undisputed Truth veröffentlicht. Die LP beinhaltete das Lied Papa Was a Rollin' Stone, welches noch im gleichen Jahr in der Version der Temptations ein Nummer-Eins-Hit werden sollte. Nachdem Norman Whitfield 1975 Motown Records verließ, wechselten The Undisputed Truth zusammen mit Rose Royce und Willie Hutch zum neugegründeten Label Whitfield Records.
