H2testw wurde entwickelt, um USB-Sticks auf einwandfreie Funktion zu

The downloadable Data Lifeguard Tools now comes in both DOS and Windows
versions and was written specifically for the installation of Western Digital EIDE

of Data Lifeguard for best results. The DOS version is required if installing a hard drive

The Diagnostics utility allows you to test the drive, print results for last
drive tested, repair errors found during the Test Drive option and write zeros
to the drive. To use this utility, please download the file to your computer.
If using the ZIP version of the file, then next unzip the utility.
Finally, just run the program "DLGDiagv504c.exe" which will walk you through
the steps to create a bootable diagnostic diskette.

Die Technik kennt bis zu 35 verschiedene Überwachungsattribute. Welche davon jedoch in ein Laufwerk zur Überwachung
integriert werden ist abhängig vom Hersteller – nicht jedes Laufwerk überwacht jedes Attribut.
Im folgenden eine kurze Auflistung der häufigsten Attribute:
Power On Hours Count: Dieses Attribut bezieht sich auf das Alter des Laufwerks, also die Laufzeit. Der Raw-Wert gibt zumeist die tatsächliche Anzahl an Stunden im Betrieb wider – abhängig vom Laufwerk kann aber auch eine andere Einheit, wie z.B. Minuten, gemeint sein.
Start/Stop Count: Wert der (Spindel-)Start/Stopzyklen des Laufwerks. Der Raw-Wert beschreibt die Anzahl der durchgeführten Start/Stopzyklen.
Reallocated Sector Count/Reallocation(-ed) Event Count: Indiziert die Anzahl der Reallocated Sectors. Wenn während dem Betrieb ein defekter Sektor festgestellt wird, wird dieser Sektor als „defekt“ (reallocated) markiert und auf einen Reservesektor zurückgegriffen.
Spin Up Time: Überwacht die Zeitspanne bis der Spindelmotor den Platternstapel vom Stillstand auf Nenndrehzahl bringt. Diese Zeitspanne ist definiert, größere Abweichungen können auf einen sich anbahnenden Defekt des Spindelmotors oder auf einen Lagerschaden hindeuten.
Spin Retry Count: Überwacht die Anzahl der Versuche des Spindelmotors den Platternstapel auf Nenndrehzahl zu bringen. Eine Abnahme des aktuell ermittelten Wertes deutet auf mechanische Probleme bzw. Schäden hin.
Raw Read Error Rate: Indiziert Lesefehler des Laufwerks.
Write Error Count: Indiziert Schreibfehler des Laufwerks.
Seek Error Rate: Überwacht Kopfpositionierungsfehler.
Seek Time Performance: Überwacht die durchschnittlichen Zugriffszeiten der Festplatte.
Temperature: Bei Festplattenlaufwerken mit integriertem Temperatursensor zeigt dieser Wert die momentane Temperatur des Laufwerks an.
Throughput Performance: Überwacht den Datendurchsatz des Laufwerks über die gesamte Kapazität.
Offline Scan Uncorrectable Sector Count: Ermittelt die seit dem letzen Scan als defekt festgestellten Sektoren.
