Diese Shell-Extension ist speziell für die gezielte Defragmentation einzelner bzw. markierter Dateien geeignet.
Es können mehrere Einzel-Dateien (keine Ordner) markiert, und per Kontext-Menü defragmentiert werden.
Zudem lassen sich (über Ansicht -> Details auswählen...) detaillierte Informationen von z.B.:
NTFS Data Streams, Clusterbelegung, Size On Disk uvm. in der Exploreranzeige integrieren.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Should I use FragExt to defragment all the files on my hard drive?
You can, but I don't advise that you do. A good volume defragmenter gives special consideration
to usage relationships between different files, arranging them together and placing them at
specific locations on the hard disk. Currently, FragExt simply looks for the first amount of free space
large enough to defragment the file into and uses it. Future versions may include support for optimal
placement patterns.
How does FragExt handle directories?
Directories are actually records in the file system, so FragExt treats them as files.
If you want to process all the files in a directory, either enter the directory and select them all,
or do a file search and select those found. All the FragExt applications are aware of multiple file operations,
with the exception of the info-tip and explorer columns.
How does FragExt display data streams for a file?
The column and info-tip extentions display the total number of data streams belonging to a file,
exluding the default unnamed data stream. Therefore, files which only have a default unnamed stream
are shown as having a count of 0 data streams. The file property extension displays all
data streams as unique files, but draws an overlaying ~ like icon on the file's type icon and denotes
the file as an alternate data stream in the item's tooltip. Alternate data streams can also be identified
by their file name, which always takes the form:
FileName.Ext:StreamName:$Type
$Type is almost always the value $DATA
