What is iden.tify.us all about?
The goal of iden.tify.us is to provide a place for people to help other people identify music.
But what if I already know every song ever made, why would I need this site?
We are looking for people that know a great deal of music to help people identify songs.
When identifying a song, we want you to point the person to a music retailer where they would be
able to purchase it, but we encourage you to use affiliate referral codes, so that you might be able to make
a couple bucks while helping others.
What if I already know what the song is but I would like more information about it? Upload/Link to the
song and ask away!
So there is no magic algorithm?
Not just yet. This sites success will depend upon the community, until we can start seeing trends how
people use iden.tify.us.
What are the requirements for using this site?
Flash Player Version 9 is required to use the audio player. Javascript is required to be turned on as well.
Unobtrusive backwards compatibility is being work on to allow for older browsers and browsers with
javascript or flash disabled.

Die offene Musik-Enzyklopädie
Willkommen bei Musipedia! Inspiriert durch die Wikipedia, aber sonst nicht mit ihr verbunden,
bauen hier Freiwillige aus der ganzen Welt eine aufgrund der Melodie durchsuchbare,
editierbare und erweiterbare Sammlung von Melodien und musikalischen Themen auf.
Jeder Eintrag kann editiert werden. Ein Eintrag kann Noten in Form eines kleinen Bildes,
eine MIDI-Datei, Texte über das Werk und den Komponisten und nicht zuletzt den
Parsons-Code enthalten, eine Beschreibung der melodischen Kontur.
Selbst wenn Sie nur die Melodie eines Musikstückes kennen und sonst nichts darüber wissen,
können Sie es in Musipedia oder im WWW finden. Natürlich können Sie auch zusätzlich zur
Melodie anhand von Kategorien oder Stichwörtern suchen.
Melodiesuche
Musipedia nutzt die "Melodyhound"-Suchmaschine für Melodien. Sie können eine Melodie
auch dann finden und identifizieren, wenn Sie wirklich nur die Melodie wissen.
Sie können die Melodie auf einer virtuellen Klaviatur spielen, dem Computer vorpfeifen
oder vorsingen, den Parsons-Code nutzen oder auch einfach nur den Rhythmus mit der
Computer-Tastatur eintippen.
Betreiber und Mitwirkende
Rainer Typke betreibt und entwickelt diese Website, aber ohne die folgenden Beiträge
wäre sie nicht in dieser Form möglich:
Tausende registrierte Benutzer editieren und erweitern die Musipedia-Sammlung von Melodien,
Agatha Walczak-Typke hat die Logos entworfen,
Chang Junying hat bei der Übersetzung ins Chinesische geholfen,
Guillaume Fallet hat die Seite ins Französische übersetzt und viele Ideen für eine bessere Benutzbarkeit
der Seite beigetragen,
Scott Schiller schrieb den "Sound Manager", der z. B. für die Klaviatur auf der Hauptseite benutzt wird,
Musipedia verwendet einige Open Source-Software: das Lilypond-Notensetzprogramm
(von Han-Wen Nienhuys und anderen), das Typo3-Content Management-System, die
MySQL-Datenbank und andere.
Die Klaviatur auf der Hauptseite verwendet Klänge vom Freesound-Benutzer angstrom,
die unter der Creative Commons Sampling Plus 1.0 License veröffentlicht wurden.
Die Java Sound Demo von Sun Microsystems war die Basis für das Query-by-Humming-Applet,
das auch eine Methode zur Erkennung der Tonhöhe von Niels Gorisse und einen Algorithmus fürs
Aufsplitten in Noten von Rainer Typke enthält.

Tunespotting has been built and run using custom-made technology by Red Balloon Technology Ltd.
The site uses asp, javascript, ajax, dhtml and perl and runs on a combined Windows-Linux platform.
The search algorhythms behind Tunespotting have been developed over a number of years at Red Balloon,
as has our unique notation software, which we believe to be the first attempt to provide a fully
functioning desktop-style environment for generating music notation and midi files online. As well
as our proprietary technology we have also used Sean Burke's Midi Perl and Han-Wen Nienhuys
and Jan Nieuwenhuizen's lilipond software to provide some of the back-end functionality to generate
the final music snippets. Thanks to Rainer Typke of the excellent Musipedia for his technical
help with matters lilipond and linux.

was für ein Song das ist. Hier hilft Tunatic weiter. Die Freeware analysiert den Song und sucht in einer
Online-Datenbank nach Interpret und Titel.
Bei einem ersten Test von CHIP Online erkannte Tunatic immerhin 7 von 10 Songs.
Probleme hatte das Tool mit klassischer Musik und mit deutschsprachigen Hits.
